Earthquake in China, cyclone in Myanmar, sure puts our man-made pain from $4 gas in perspective.

The pictures and reports coming back are simply heart-wrenching.

Eddie Wong’s story in the New York Times refers to Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao surveying the scene of the Sichuan earthquake as “powerless to ease the suffering of survivors.”

But in this information age, we are not totally powerless. Once again, the web proves to be an invaluable source for information to help us keep up with tragedy in one of our ancestral homelands.
