Imagining a white Rev. Wright

What would you get if Obama’s scourge, the  Rev. Jeremiah Wright were white?

Hey, would that be a latter day Jerry Falwell?

The Washington Post’s E.J. Dionne asks the question in his column which suggests that a real double standard is at play.

In other words, the black left-wing radical gets jumped on; The white right-wing radical more often than not gets a free pass. And not just from God.

Some are concerned about white racism toward Obama.  I don’t think that’s at play here.  I’m more concerned about  Obama’s pandering to the right on this point.

And even more concerned about White’s ability to express his crackpot views from his black perspective. That’s the racism you should be concerned about. The First Amendment gives Wright his right to all his cockamamie views. If you shut him up,  guess what?

You’re next.

  1. I agree. I admire Wright for having the guts to say what he believes in. Not many people can do that these days, certainly not politicians. That’s why I will vote for Nader.

There are always double standards when it comes to politics and new reporting. About a week ago (April 26, 2008), thousands of Chinese American protested CNN in the heart of San Francisco. Guess what? No “mainstream media” (except KTSF) bothered to cover that, including AsianWeek.

People need to get the coverage from China based news agencies, Youtube, and a TV station like KTSF.

Compared how normally the local TV stations and newspapers cover events around the city, especially how excited they get when there is an anti-China rally, the bias of the media is very obvious.

So it’s not a question of if there is a double stands, because the answer is so obvious, unless you are in constant denial like our president.

which I tried to included in the previous comment, see what will come up about the protest coverage.
